Stem Cell Knee Joint Restoration

Stem Cell Treatment – Knee Joint Restoration

At R5, We Use The Most Advanced Stem Cell Techniques To Repair And Restore Joints. You Can Forget Knee Replacement And Tennis Elbows If You Use These Procedures. Read More

The team at R5 conducted a study in which 40 knee joints were treated with our ground-breaking technique, on average 60% of patients at the 3 month checkup reported improvement in all pain, stiffness and joint function; with various patients achieving improvement of up to 90%.

Further Information

Though great progress has been made in medicine, current evidence-based and palliative treatments are increasingly unable to keep pace with patients’ needs, especially given our ageing population. There are few effective ways to treat the root causes of many diseases, injuries and congenital conditions. Read More

In many cases, clinicians can only manage patients’ symptoms using medications or devices. Regenerative medicine is a game-changing area of medicine with the potential to fully heal damaged tissues and organs, offering solutions and hope for people who have conditions that today are beyond repair.

Regenerative medicine itself isn’t new — the first bone marrow and solid-organ transplants were done decades ago. But advances in developmental and cell biology, immunology, and other fields have unlocked new opportunities to refine existing regenerative therapies and develop novel ones.

Regenerative Medicine takes three interrelated approaches:

Rejuvenation:
Rejuvenation means boosting the body’s natural ability to heal itself. Though after a cut your skin heals within a few days, other organs don’t repair themselves as readily.

But cells in the body once thought to be no longer able to divide (terminally differentiated) — including the highly specialized cells constituting the heart, lungs and nerves — have been shown to be able to remodel and possess some ability to self-heal.

Replacement:
Replacement involves using healthy cells, tissues or organs from a living or deceased donor to replace damaged ones. Organ transplants, such as heart and liver transplants, are good examples.

Regeneration centres around the world aim to expand opportunities for transplants by finding ways to overcome the ongoing donor shortage, the need for immunosuppression and challenges with organ rejection.

Regeneration:
Regeneration involves delivering specific types of cells or cell products to diseased tissues or organs, where they will ultimately restore tissue and organ function. This can be done through cell-based therapy or by using cell products, such as growth factors. Bone marrow transplants are an example.

At R5 we deal primarily with Regeneration and Rejuvenation. We believe regenerative medicine holds the promise of definitive, affordable health care solutions that heal the body from within.

The role of stem cells

Stem cells have the ability to develop — through a process called differentiation — into many different types of cells, such as skin cells, brain cells, lung cells and so on. Stem cells are a key component of regenerative medicine, as they open the door to new clinical applications. Read More

Regenerative medicine teams the world over are studying a variety of stem cells, including adult and embryonic stem cells. Also being studied are various types of progenitor cells, such as those found in umbilical cord blood, and bioengineered cells called induced pluripotent stem cells. Each type has unique qualities, with some being more versatile than others.

Many of the regenerative therapies at R5 begin with the particular patient’s own cells. For example, a patient’s own fat cells may be collected, reprogrammed in a laboratory to give them certain characteristics, and delivered back to the patient to treat his or her joint problems.

Stem cells and their use in regenerative medicine have been in the media a lot lately. But what exactly does it mean? Physicians and researchers say it has to do with developing completely new ways to treat and manage chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart failure, and degenerative nerve, bone and joint conditions.

We at R5 are studying the work of centres around the world and aim to be at the forefront of harnessing these treatments for our patients.

Post Surgery Advice

You just had the most advanced and innovative technique to regenerate the torn, damaged and inflamed tissue of your both knee joint which are causing pain, stiffness and limitation of your physical activity. ADMStem cells are stem cells derived from your own fat deposit anywhere in your body after your procedure and being discharged.

  • Antibiotics for 5 days.
  • Tab Brufen and Paracetamol to be used regularly 3 -4 times a day for first 2-3 days and than SOS unless allergic to any one of them

Physiotherapy :

  • Muscle strengthening exercise while you sit or lie in bed without any weights to begin with.
  • Once more confident after 2 weeks use low weight strap around ankles to exercise.

Walking :

  • Limit your walk to 5-10 minutes twice a day to begin with wearing your special Knee support.
  • You may increase the walking time once you are more confident and comfortable.

What to expect:

  • Regenerative process is long and slow but progressive process and it takes time.
  • After all damage done over 50-70 years cannot be repaired in few weeks but months and earliest you will see the benefits will be after 4-6 weeks or may be after 2 months.
  • You will notice that you are now becoming relatively pain free and require fewer medication and stiffness is less.
  • Your Physical mobility will increase InshAllah with time and with the help of physiotherapy + knee support + weight reduction + positive attitude.
